PCS Cancer Commission Foundation (PCS CanCom)

Our vision is to promote quality cancer care across all regions and sectors in the Philippines.

The Philippine College of Surgeons Cancer Commission Foundation (PCS CanCom) stands as a distinguished  institution, officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, recognized nationally for its impactful endeavors. Established on December 2, 2019, this multistakeholder, multisectoral, and multidisciplinary organization is committed to elevating the standards of cancer care throughout the Philippines, contributing to the nation’s strength and well-being.

It proudly hosts the Philippine National Cancer Summit – the nation’s foremost multi-sectoral, multidisciplinary, and multi-stakeholder cancer conference during the Cancer Awareness Month every February. This distinguished event unites participants from both the national and international cancer community, fostering discussions and advancements in the development of integrated cancer care systems specifically tailored to the needs of the Filipino population

The Foundation is an avenue for collaboration among stakeholders from both public and private sectors and advocates for the enhancement of the economic, social and physical well being of FIlipinos living with cancer, cancer survivors and their families.

MISSION

Our mission is to be the national leader in promoting value-based, high quality cancer surgery services and research. We are a recognized partner of the Department of Health (DOH) for the promotion of the Multidisciplinary Team Approach and the establishment of the mechanics to monitor Cancer Surgical Treatment Outcomes, as part of the implementation of the National Integrated Cancer Control Act (NICCA).

MAIN PROGRAMS

  1. Cancer Surgery Quality Improvement Program, which aims to mobilize and guide hospital tumor boards across the country towards better multidisciplinary, integrated patient care.
  2. Cancer Surgery Quality Outcomes Review Program, which hopes to monitor and improve the quality of cancer surgery  in the Philippines.
  3. Cancer Community Outreach and Support Program, which provides support to cancer patients and their families, partnering with government and non-government organizations to achieve these goals
